Starting in the new year, youth in foster care who are expecting will receive critical funding to prepare for the birth of their child. CLC was thrilled to join in the statewide advocacy efforts to secure this funding based on a pilot in Los Angeles County. “The local program was an immediate hit and has been very successful in the four years since its inception. Anyone you ask, whether it’s the county, attorneys, the youth, everyone has been really happy with this collaboration,” CLC Senior Policy Attorney Luciana Svidler states. “It’s been really helpful to get our clients situated, and really looking forward to seeing it happen throughout the state as well.”
