Advocates Gala 2024

We are so thrilled to bring back the Advocates Gala in Sacramento! The Advocates Gala will be hosted on May 29, at the beautiful Sawyer Hotel. This year we will honor beloved community figure and announcer for the Sacramento Kings, Scott Moak. A veteran of social services, Scott had a previous role as the Executive Director of the Sacramento Kings Foundation and led their “Do Good” work. His work both professionally and personally has benefitted children and youth in the Sacramento foster care system and in the Sacramento Region.

We will enjoy delicious food and drink while we listed to Justice Shama Mesiwala and Janay Eustace of the Child Abuse Prevention Center discuss the needs of children in the Sacramento Region and their important work in the child welfare sector.

We hope you will join us on May 19!

Art of Advocacy Gala 2023

Thank you to all who joined us for The Art of Advocacy Gala! The evening was warm – and the energy at the event was even warmer! Everyone enjoyed a beautiful evening of friendship, music from DJ Krazy, live art from GaKnew Roxwell, and delicious food.

Thank you to our amazing host, Angela Gibbs, whose humor and charm sparkled on stage. Champion Award honoree, Mayor Karen Bass, inspired us to keep fighting for those whose voices often go unheard, and reminded us that a society is best judged by how it treats its children. We were also grateful to honor Joseph D. Mandel and Jenny Sheets for their dedication to CLC and ongoing contributions to children in foster care.

2023 Advocates Gala

The Advocates Gala was a great success! We honored Judge Jerilyn Borack for her dedication to children and families and Ticket to Dream for their ongoing support. We hope you will join us again next year!

Big Day of Giving

Big Day of Giving (BDOG) is an annual 24-hour day of giving hosted by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. The day is an opportunity for donors to show their community pride and support the nonprofits that make our region great. Each May, CLC joins non-profts across the region to rally support for our community.
