There’s Still Time to Make Your Year-End Gift!

At a time that brought unexpected challenges that reshaped our work, your support never wavered. Because of you, children impacted by the foster care system experienced moments of joy, comfort, and hope this holiday season when they needed it most.

Long before the holiday season began, our teams were working day in and day out to support children and families at every stage of the child welfare journey— preventing unnecessary foster care involvement; helping youth escape unsafe situations; providing crisis intervention and legal advocacy; supporting older youth in securing stable housing, education, and employment; and ensuring young people had the resources, life skills, and guidance needed to thrive into adulthood. Every step of the way, this work was rooted in compassion, cultural humility, specialized training, and relentless advocacy.

As we look ahead, the needs of the children and youth we serve continue to grow, and your partnership is more critical than ever.

Every gift – no matter the size – helps ensure children have a voice, families receive support, and young people can build safe, stable futures. If you’re considering a meaningful way to support CLC in the year ahead, we’d love to connect.

Thank you for standing with us in a year that asked so much.

CLC Employee Years of Service

CLC recently hosted an employee recognition event to celebrate our incredible staff members who have dedicated years of service to the organization. The event was filled with nostalgia, heartfelt reflections, and well wishes for the future.

Special recognition was given to Attorney Supervisor and CARE Program Director, Barbara Duey, in honor of her 35 years of dedicated service to CLC – a remarkable milestone and a true testament to her unwavering commitment to our clients and their families.

We are deeply grateful for a team that shows up every day with compassion, excellence, and dedication. Thank you to our extraordinary staff for all that you do – our work is stronger because of you.

CLC Earns Gold Tier Recognition for DEI Leadership

Ashley Spann, Recruitment & Retention Specialist – DEI

We’re proud to share some exciting news –CLC has officially been named a Gold Tier Recipient in the State Bar of California’s DEI Leadership Seal program.

This recognition honors legal organizations that demonstrate a meaningful, measurable commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

These efforts include collecting and analyzing key demographic data, developing and implementing a comprehensive DEI strategic plan, offering implicit bias trainings, and conducting staff-wide surveys to inform continuous improvement. Each step reflects our belief that equity and inclusion are essential to delivering strong advocacy for the children and families we serve.

This year, our work was further strengthened by the leadership of Ashley Spann, Recruitment & Retention Specialist, whose efforts to launch stay and exit interviews have fostered deeper connection, transparency, and opportunities for growth across the organization.

This Gold Tier achievement belongs to our entire CLC team. It represents our shared commitment to building a truly anti-racist, inclusive workplace – and to advancing more just outcomes for the communities we serve.

We are honored, proud, and more committed than ever.
