Join CLC in Sacramento for the Advocates Gala!

CLC is delighted to share that we will host our annual Advocates Gala this June in Sacramento. Over the past 12 years, CLC has represented thousands of children impacted by abuse and neglect in  Sacramento and Placer County. In doing this work, we have met amazing advocates, allies, legislative partners, and great friends who continue to fight for children and families and who champion system reform at home and throughout the state.

The Advocates Gala will be an opportunity for us to hear inspiring stories of hope and resiliency and to  celebrate the achievements of our young clients, the CLC staff who support them  and of course you – our supporters and fellow advocates. We hope you will save the date and join us on June 8, 2023 at 5:30p.m. for delicious food, music, and more.

Stay tuned for additional details!

Staff Spotlight: Rosalind Paulk

Rosalind Paulk is a dedicated Social Work Investigator focusing on Expectant and Parenting Youth (EPY) in Los Angeles. Rosalind is part of our CARE Unit, which provides intensive case management for our clients who need extra support. During her time with CLC, Rosalind has demonstrated a keen ability to connect with her clients in a compassionate, empathetic way while emphasizing their strengths to help them succeed.

Rosalind’s recently assisted a young mom  who had been in foster care for most of her life. The youth had been working diligently to reunify with her 2-year-old child while preparing to give birth to her second baby. Determined to ensure her baby did not enter the system, as soon as she went into labor, her first call was to Rosalind. Rosalind not only accompanied her to the hospital and stayed by her side throughout the labor and delivery process, but at our client’s request, Rosalind even cut the baby’s umbilical cord when she made her arrival! This was certainly an experience Rosalind will never forget. CLC is so lucky to have her on board!

Donor Spotlight: Good+Foundation

CLC serves thousands of children and youth each year who are facing unique challenges and need varying levels of support. As a result, CLC has developed special programs to address the needs of our clients. Our Expectant and Parenting Youth (EPY) program supports pregnant and parenting foster youth to help them thrive as parents and end the cycle of abuse and neglect. Our EPY team is always looking for ways to support our clients and to empower and encourage them to be the best parents they can be. Recently, we were fortunate enough to partner with the Good+Foundation to provide essential maternity and baby items to our parenting clients. CLC was overjoyed to receive donations of strollers, cribs, and maternity clothes for youth who are parenting for the first time and are often lacking a strong network of support. We are so grateful to collaborate with the Good+Foundation and look forward to a long and meaningful partnership!

Meet the FSAC Team

CLC is thrilled to announce the official launch of our new Family Support and Advocacy Center (FSAC)! This innovative program provides early intervention and legal advocacy to former foster youth who are now parenting children of their own and are at risk of child welfare involvement with their own family. CLC is proud to implement this innovative service model as we strive towards breaking the intergenerational foster care cycle.
