Celebrating 20 Years of Uplift with a Gift
For two decades, CLC’s Uplift with a Gift holiday giving program has brought joy and comfort to children in foster care. Each year, we match thousands of children with generous individuals and companies who make sure every young person we serve has an unforgettable holiday.
As we celebrate our 20th year, the need is greater than ever. While many children are matched quickly, hundreds more still need support – especially those who enter foster care unexpectedly in the days leading up to the holidays. These children often arrive in court with little notice and even fewer belongings, and our team works quickly to make sure they experience warmth and care during an incredibly difficult time.
Our Amazon Wishlist helps us provide gifts for:
- Children who were not matched with a donor
- Youth experiencing emergency removals right before the holidays
- Last-minute needs that arise in our courtrooms and officesÂ
Your support through the wish list ensures no child is left without a gift.
As we mark this special anniversary, we invite you to join us in making the 2025 holiday season brighter for every child we serve. Whether you donate, sponsor a child or shop from our wishlist, your generosity brings joy, dignity, and hope when it’s needed most.
Thank you for helping us celebrate 20 years of holiday magic.
SVP Fast Pitch!
Last month, CLC had the honor of participating in the Sacramento Venture Partners Fast Pitch, an event that brings together some of the region’s most innovative and impactful nonprofits. We were proud to stand alongside so many dedicated organizations working to strengthen our communities – and even prouder to share CLC’s mission on a stage committed to social good.
Throughout the Fast Pitch process, our team received invaluable coaching, guidance, and encouragement from the SVP mentors. Their support helped us refine our message to clearly articulate the impact of CLC’s work, and share the critical need for support in our Northern California Region.
On pitch night, we had the opportunity to tell the story of CLC’s resilient clients – children and young people navigating complex trauma, uncertainty, and systemic barriers – and highlight the extraordinary commitment of our attorneys, case managers, investigators, peer advocates, and specialized support teams. Their dedication is the heart of CLC, and sharing that with a new audience energized us for the future!
The event not only gave us a platform to amplify the needs of the children we serve, but also helped build new connections with community members and partners who believe in strengthening outcomes for foster youth. We left feeling energized, grateful, and motivated to carry this momentum into the year ahead.
A special thank-you to Sacramento Venture Partners and our incredible coaches, Andrew and Bernadette Augustine, for believing in us, investing in our work, and giving us the opportunity to share CLC’s story with clarity, confidence, and heart.
Together, we remain committed to creating brighter futures for every child who walks through our doors.

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a grant from the Goldhirsch Foundation as part of this year’s LA2050 Grants Challenge to support our foster care prevention work.
In all, 55 LA-area nonprofits received grants totaling nearly $3 million, thanks to a collaborative of a dozen amazing local funders. We are honored to be part of this incredible community of changemakers, and excited to work alongside the entire 2025 LA2050 Grantee Cohort to make our region better for all.
You can check out our winning proposal now on the LA2050 Ideas Hub at LA2050.org.
A Season of Gratitude
As we enter a season centered on gratitude, Children’s Law Center of California wants to take a moment to thank the incredible community that makes our work possible. To our supporters, donors, funders, volunteers, partners, and friends – you are the reason thousands of children and youth in foster care feel seen, supported, and surrounded by hope.
We also recognize that this holiday season can carry complex meaning. For many Indigenous communities, this time of year brings a reminder of painful histories and ongoing injustices. At CLC, we honor and stand in solidarity with Indigenous people and acknowledge the land and stories that came long before us. Holding space for that truth is an essential part of reflecting on gratitude with honesty and respect.
From all of us at CLC, thank you for walking with us, lifting up our work, and helping us build brighter futures for children and families across California. We are grateful today and every day.
Wishing you a season filled with warmth, reflection, and connection.
